My whole build week went sideways when I installed the switches upside down.

I spent 3 hours lubing 70 Cherry Mx Browns for my first custom build last Saturday and then I put them all into the hotswap sockets backwards, so now I have a keyboard that only types if I press the keys from underneath, has anyone else done something this dumb with their first build?

The part about 'pressing the keys from underneath' actually made me laugh out loud." That's just brutal but also kind of legendary. A buddy of mine once soldered an entire 60% board and then realized he'd put the microcontroller on the wrong side of the PCB, so all the keys were mapped to the wrong column. He had to unsolder every single joint and start over, took him like two weekends.

That really hurts to read because I've been there myself (well, almost). I accidentally put all my switches in rotated 90 degrees and couldn't figure out why they wouldn't snap in. The upside down thing is actually kind of impressive in a sad way - at least you got them all in! Your fingers must have been screaming after 3 hours of lubing just to have to pull them all back out. Honestly the upside down typing thing is kinda funny though, like a party trick for your friends to try.
