Question about stabs... maybe I'm wrong about lubing them heavily

I had a talk with a guy at the Austin meetup last Saturday who said he runs his stabilizers bone dry with just a tiny bit of grease on the wire ends... and his build felt smoother than mine which I drenched in Krytox. He said all that thick lube just makes them sluggish over time and now I'm wondering if I've been doing it wrong this whole time. Has anyone else tried cutting way back on stabilizer lube and actually liked it better?

@ruby_lane pretty much nailed it. I did the same thing for like two years, slathering Krytox 205 on every stab. Then a buddy at a meetup told me to try just a dab on the wire ends and nothing in the housing. Night and day difference. The keys bounce back faster and don't feel sticky or slow. I still put a light smear on the plastic contact points but way less than before. The whole "less is more" thing with stabs surprised me too but it actually works.

Oh man, I've been guilty of drowning my stabs in lube like I was basting a Thanksgiving turkey. Turns out less is more, and I've been making my keyboard feel like it's wading through molasses this whole time.
