Split my plate mount stabilizer stem in half after lubing it too aggressively
I was putting together a new build on Saturday night and snapped the left shift stem clean off my Durock v2 stabilizer while trying to work some Krytox 205g0 into the housing. Honestly, I panicked and tried to superglue it back together but that made things worse because the stem got stuck halfway down. Has anyone else had a stabilizer fail like this during modding and what did you do to fix it without ordering an entire new set?

Wait wait wait, you tried superglue it while it was stuck halfway down? Dude that's honestly kind of genius in a panic way but also sounds like a complete mess. @pat_hall87 is right though, swapping a stem from another set is the move if you got one, but Durocks are picky as hell about that stuff.

Ugh, that's the worst. I feel your pain - I did the exact same thing to a cherry screw-in stabilizer last year, just trying to get the lube to spread evenly and the stem just cracked. I ended up using a pair of tweezers to fish out the broken piece from the housing, but the superglue situation sounds like a nightmare. If you have any spare stems from an old stab set or even a cheap donor kit, you can swap just the stem out, but I've found that Durock v2s are pretty particular about matching parts. Otherwise, yeah, you might have to bite the bullet and grab a new set - it's annoying but less trouble than trying to salvage it.
