Tried 3 different switch lubes on my board, the difference was night and day
I built my first custom board about 6 months ago with some cheap Gateron yellows and just used the stock lube. Last week I finally picked up some Krytox 205g0 and tried it on one half of the board. The difference in smoothness was crazy, like going from gravel to butter. The stock lube felt grainy and inconsistent once I actually noticed it. I also tested some Tribosys 3204 on a friend's board and it felt different too, more of a dry smooth feel. Has anyone else found that switching lube brands changed their whole typing experience?

My first build I used 205g0 on some JWK blacks and thought I'd nailed it until I tried 3203 on a different switch a month later. The 3203 felt way slicker to me, almost like the switch had been coated in a thin film that made everything glide faster. I ended up swapping half my board back to the 205g0 just to compare them side by side for a week. Your mileage may vary but I think the Krytox 205g0 is thicker and fills in scratchiness better while the Tribosys stuff is more about that dry slide feel. What I found funny is that the board I thought was perfect actually had a lot of scratch that I just got used to until I tried something different.

Lol @richard_shah that's exactly what happened to me too! I had a board with 205g0 on some Gat yellows and thought it was endgame until I tried 3203 on a different set. The 3203 just feels so much cleaner and lighter, like the switch is almost frictionless. I actually kept both boards for a while and swapped between them just to see which one I preferred long term. Ended up sticking with the 3203 for linear switches and saving the 205g0 for stabs where the thickness actually helps.
