6 weeks with a password manager finally paid off last night
I started using Bitwarden back in February after ignoring all the advice for years. Last night I got a notification that someone tried to log into my old Spotify account from Brazil. Since I had changed all my passwords to random 20-character ones, I just laughed and denied it. Before that, I bet they would've cracked my reused password in minutes. Has anyone else had that moment where a security tool actually saved you?

Eh passwords are overrated anyway.

Had this exact thing happen with my old Minecraft account actually. Someone in Russia got my password from some old database breach and tried to get in. Bitwarden had already rotated that password months before so it was useless to them. That notification feeling is wild (you wait for it to feel satisfying and it totally does). One thing I'd add from experience is make sure you check your "reused passwords" report in Bitwarden every couple months. I found like 5 more old accounts I had forgotten about that were still using my old weak password. Also worth enabling 2FA on the password manager itself if you haven't already.
