I finally locked down my accounts after a close call at a coffee shop in Portland

I was working on my laptop at a busy coffee spot in Portland last spring, using their free WiFi to check some emails. Next thing I know, my bank app was showing a login attempt from a city I’d never visited. That was the wake-up call I needed. I started using a VPN for anything financial, even on public networks, and switched to two-factor authentication everywhere. It took me about 2 hours one evening to set everything up. Has anyone else had a similar scare that made them change their habits?

lol yeah public wifi is sketchy af, got burned once at an airport and now I'm paranoid about everything. setting up 2FA and a VPN took me like an hour but honestly worth the peace of mind even if it feels overkill.
