My neighbor's simple comment about his router made me change my password

We were talking about his new internet plan last week, and he mentioned he still had the default password on his router from the cable company. He said, 'If someone really wants in, they'll get in anyway, so why bother?' That stuck with me because I used to think the same thing. I looked it up and found a list of the top 10 default passwords for my router model, and mine was number three. Changed it that night. Anyone else have a moment that finally pushed them to fix a simple security hole?

Yeah, that default password list is no joke. I checked mine after reading a similar post and found the login for the admin panel was still 'admin/admin'. It's scary how many people never even log into their router's settings to change that.

Honestly @the_sage, imagine if someone just drove around scanning for those open admin panels.
