Paid $180 for a password manager, family still uses sticky notes

Last January I bought a family plan for Bitwarden and spent a whole weekend setting up vaults for everyone. My wife and teenage son both said they'd use it, but I found three sticky notes under the keyboard last week with their login info. It wasn't the tool's fault, it was the habit change nobody wanted to make. Has anyone actually gotten their household to stick with a password manager, or do we all just give up eventually?

Did you try turning it into a game or a challenge? Like, my buddy's family races to see who can log into their streaming apps the fastest using the manager, and the loser has to do the dishes. The real trick isn't the tool itself, it's making it feel less like a chore and more like a little win. Sticky notes work because they're right there, zero effort. So maybe put the manager's shortcut on the desktop and set a weekly reminder to swap out one sticky note for a saved login, just one, no pressure. After a month, the habit kinda sticks on its own, or at least you're down to one sticky note instead of three.

That weekly swap idea sounds nice, but what happens after the month is up and the sticky notes are gone? Did anyone in your buddy's family actually keep using it once the "game" lost its shine, or did they just go back to whatever was easiest? I'm genuinely curious if that kind of forced habit actually sticks or if it just delays the crash.
