Seeing my buddy's Instagram get hacked has me debating password apps

My friend from the rec center lost his Instagram to hackers last week. Some folks in our group say password managers are the only safe way to go now. Others think they're just another risk if the app itself gets breached. I'm stuck in the middle and curious what you all think.

Used to think they were overkill but a good password app feels way safer now.

Guess it's either get hacked for reusing 'password123' or get hacked when the password app fails. Pick your poison.
