Switched from LastPass to Bitwarden after that 2022 breach scare

I was a LastPass user for like 4 years straight, but after that huge breach in late 2022 I started getting nervous. Moved all my 200+ passwords over to Bitwarden in one weekend, cost me like $10 a year for premium. Honestly the transition was way smoother than I expected and the open source thing makes me feel way better about security. Anyone else jump ship after that mess?

Did you back up all your passwords before you moved them? I lost a few during my own migration last year because I got sloppy with the export file. Had to do a password reset on like five accounts and it was a pain.

Honestly, the whole 'sloppy with the export file' thing is exactly what happened to me too. I read this article last week from some security researcher who said most people mess up the CSV format during migration and end up with corrupted data. I ended up having to manually re-enter like 12 logins because I didn't check the file before I deleted everything. Now I always keep a printed copy in my safe just in case.
