Talking to a neighbor who works IT made me rethink my password habits

I was chatting with the guy two doors down last Saturday while we were both out watering plants. He mentioned his company got hit with a phishing attempt that looked almost real, and he said the only reason nobody got burned was because they use a password manager that auto-fills on verified sites. I had been reusing the same garbage password for like 10 different accounts. He told me, 'You are basically handing the keys to your whole life to anyone who guesses one right.' That hit different because he wasn't preaching, just stating facts. Anyone else had a random convo that made you change something basic?

Your mileage may vary on that though. Password managers are handy but they also create a single point of failure if someone gets into your master account. Just saying, going digital doesn't fix everything, it just changes where the risk sits.
