Tbh I still remember the guy at Micro Center who saved me $200

I was about to drop cash on a whole new router setup and this random employee just said "hey, check your DNS settings first" and that literally fixed everything. Has anyone else had a random store worker give them surprisingly good security advice?

That Micro Center employee probably saved you hours of headache. I used to roll my eyes at the idea of asking store workers for tech advice, figured they just wanted to push accessories or warranties on you. But last year a kid at Best Buy talked me out of buying a $90 extension cord for my desktop, told me to just get a standard one from the hardware store for $10. I figured he was just being lazy, but he was right, the expensive cord would have done nothing extra. So yeah, sometimes those guys actually know what they're talking about.
