Can we talk about packing cubes vs just rolling clothes?

I tried using packing cubes for a 5 day trip to Chicago and ended up with less space than when I just roll everything. Now I'm wondering if the organization is worth losing room. What's your take on cubes vs rolling?

Honestly I was totally on team roll everything until a buddy convinced me to try cubes for a long weekend in NYC. For shorter trips I actually find cubes waste space too but for longer trips or when I need to live out of a bag for a week they're a game changer. The key is not overstuffing them because then they turn into bricks and you lose all that organization. For a 5 day trip I'd probably stick with rolling if space is tight.

Wait, @rivera.henry you actually had cubes turn into bricks? Lol I thought that only happened to me. I tried them for a 4 day trip to Denver and ended up with a suitcase that looked like a toddler packed it. The cubes took up so much room I could barely fit my hoodie. Rolling clothes is still king for me. I'd rather spend 2 minutes organizing at the hotel than lose a third of my bag space to some fancy fabric boxes.
