Coworker swore by a cheap nylon webbing belt instead of a leather one for bartending shifts
After 8 months of my leather belt cracking from spills and sweat I finally caved and bought a 12 dollar nylon belt off Amazon and now I'm mad I didn't listen to him sooner since it's held up through like 200 shifts without a single fray, anyone else find random cheap gear that outlasts the expensive stuff?

Cheap belts aren't built for real work, they just haven't failed you yet.

Buddy of mine spent sixty bucks on a heavy canvas carpenter's apron for woodworking and it ripped in three months while a twelve dollar one from Harbor Freight is still going strong two years later. Like you said, sometimes the cheap stuff just works.
