Hit 100 days with the same pocket notebook and it changed how I track stuff
Honestly, I started using a Field Notes notebook back in March just to jot down random tasks. I hit exactly 100 days of daily use last Tuesday and flipped through all the pages. It blew my mind seeing how many small ideas and errands I would have forgotten. The number that got me was 47 reminders for things like buying lightbulbs or calling my insurance agent. That's 47 things that would have slipped my mind. Has anyone else tracked how much a simple notebook can actually hold onto for you?

I had a similar situation a few years back. I started using a plain Moleskine cahier for my grocery lists and ended up with over 60 small reminders in just three months. Things like "pick up prescription" or "email the plumber" that I would have completely forgotten without writing them down. It really opened my eyes to how much my brain relies on having a physical backup.

I read somewhere that our brains can only hold like 7 things in working memory at once, which explains why I forget stuff the second I walk into another room. That 47 number is wild because it shows how many moments just vanish if you don't trap them on paper. There was a study or an article about how writing things down by hand helps you remember them better too, something about the physical act locking it in your brain. It's not just about the list itself, it's about how your brain stops worrying about the little stuff once it's written down. I bet those 47 reminders saved you way more than 47 headaches down the line.
