My favorite knife clip broke off during a hike last Sunday

I was out on the Blue Mountain trail and went to grab my folder from my pocket and the clip just snapped clean off. It was an old Kershaw I've had for maybe 5 years. Had to carry it loose in my pocket the rest of the day and kept worrying I'd lose it. The screw hole looks stripped too, so I'm not sure if I can just swap the clip. Anyone know a good way to fix a busted clip hole or am I looking at a new knife?

Had a similar thing happen with an old Spyderco and it drove me crazy trying to fix it. You can try using a tiny bit of epoxy to hold a new screw in place, but honestly if the hole is stripped you're probably better off just getting a new knife. Five years is a good run for an EDC, and replacement clips are cheap if the hole wasn't busted. Maybe check if Kershaw has a warranty program, they've been pretty good about sending out parts in my experience.

And speaking of Kershaw's warranty, you should definitely hit them up before you even think about epoxy or buying anything new. I had a Leek where the torsion bar snapped after like two years and they sent me a whole new one for free, no questions asked. Just fill out the form on their site and include a few bucks for shipping, they're real good about it. If the screw hole is stripped though, you might need to drill it out and tap it for a slightly bigger screw, I've done that on a couple old knives and it works fine if you have the right tools. But honestly, for a 5 year old Kershaw that's been beat up on hikes, treating yourself to a new one might be the sweetest fix of all.
