Rant: That fancy multi-tool I bought at REI last month failed within 3 days on a job site
The screwdriver bit snapped off while I was tightening a loose hinge on a client's door in Portland, and now I'm back to carrying a separate screwdriver and pliers like I did 5 years ago, anyone else had those name-brand tools crap out faster than the cheap ones?

And that's like a $60 tool, right? I had one of those fail on a weekend camping trip and it just sat in my glovebox for six months before I threw it away.

That bit snapping off is exactly what happened to mine. I bought a cheap multi-tool from a hardware store for like $25 and it's held up way better over two years of light use around the house. Sometimes the fancy branding really doesn't mean better quality.
