Picked up a 1937 map of Europe at a garage sale and the borders were completely wrong

The seller swore it was from 1940 but the date on the corner said 1937. Poland was way bigger than it should have been for that time and Austria was still marked as a separate country. Anybody else run into maps that don't match the year the cartographer claimed?
