That 1970s map of Antarctica I found has no ice shelf labels at all

I picked up a 1972 atlas from a library sale and the Ross Ice Shelf is just drawn as a solid coastline with no dotted lines or labels. Turns out mapmakers back then barely knew where the ice ended and the ocean started. Has anyone else found old polar maps where the geography is totally guessed at?

Without ice shelf labels" reminds me how I once found a 60s map showing roads where there were just empty fields lol.

Makes total sense, my own sense of direction has been wrong since 2005 so I guess maps can be shaky too. At least back then you could blame the ice, I just have no excuse.
