Unpopular opinion: a 1962 gas station map of Ohio fixed my road trip route after 3 failed tries
I kept hitting dead ends using a phone app on a drive from Dayton to Marietta, so I dug out a 1962 oil company map and followed its old state routes instead. The map showed a river crossing at a town that no longer has a bridge, but it got me within 2 miles of where I needed to be. Has anyone else found that an outdated map lines up better with the actual roads than what's on a screen?
