Just realized that $22 mall walking guidebook was a total waste, but my free library map worked better
I got suckered into buying a $22 "dead mall field guide" from a guy at a flea market in Columbus last month. It promised secret tips on which malls are safe to explore and where to find unlocked doors, but half the info was outdated or just wrong. One side says you should always pay for a guide to save time and avoid trouble. The other side says just use free resources like old mall directories at the library, which is what I ended up doing and found way more. So what's your take, is it worth spending cash on these guides or are they mostly a scam like the one I got? I lost $22 and a whole Saturday chasing dead ends from that book, so I want to hear if others have similar stories.
