A stuck injector on a 6.7 Powerstroke turned my Friday into a three day weekend

The truck came in with a bad misfire, and after pulling the valve cover I found cylinder 3's injector was absolutely seized in the head. I ended up using a slide hammer and a homemade adapter from an old bolt, plus a full can of penetrating oil over two hours, just to get it to budge. What's your go-to method for a really stubborn diesel injector that won't come out?

A full can of penetrating oil and it still took two hours? That injector must have been welded in there by sheer spite. I've seen some stuck ones, but going through a whole can feels like a special kind of battle. My old boss used to swear by heating the area around it with a torch, just a little, before even trying the slide hammer. Said the metal needed to remember it could move.

Remember my buddy's truck with the seized glow plug? He soaked it for three days straight and it still snapped off flush. Sometimes that corrosion just laughs at liquid wrench, you know? Ended up having to drill it out which was a whole other nightmare.
