Caught off guard by the fact that 80% of diesel injector failures are actually caused by water contamination, not wear and tear like I always assumed
I read that stat in a Bosch technical bulletin last night and now I'm wondering if I've been blaming bad fuel pumps for issues that were really just moisture in the system, anyone else ever had a case where a simple water separator swap saved a whole injector set?

Found water in my tractor's fuel tank last spring, had to drain the whole thing before injecting the injectors.

Did you find any dirt or crud in there besides the water? Just wondering if the water came from a bad seal or you might have gotten some contaminated fuel. Checked your water separator lately?
