Found a surprising detail about the 6.0 Powerstroke's oil cooler design

I was reading a service bulletin from Ford's technical hotline (the one they call the 'Hotline' for dealers) and it mentioned the factory oil cooler on the 6.0L can have a flow rate difference of over 15% between units, even when new. That's a huge spread and explains some of the wild temperature variations you see truck to truck. Has anyone else measured the flow on a new replacement cooler before installing it?

Buddy's new cooler flowed like a clogged straw.

Actually, the hotline bulletins are for techs, not the dealer hotline itself. But yeah, that flow variance is NUTS. Makes total sense why some trucks just run hot from the start.
