Had a injector line burst on a customer's truck last Tuesday - changed my whole inspection routine

I was doing a routine check on an older Freightliner near Nashville when a #5 injector line let go while I had my hand right near it. The fuel sprayed at 25,000 PSI and cut through my glove like it was nothing. Has anyone else started replacing high-pressure lines at a certain mileage just to be safe?

Grabbed my arm away just in time when a line on a Pete 379 let go last spring, blew a hole right through my sleeve. Ended up tracing the whole harness back and found two more lines that were starting to look sketchy around the crimps. Started swapping out any lines older than five years or with over 100k on them now, the cost of the parts is nothing compared to what that injury could've been.

That 379 line let go about six inches from my face back in '21, same deal - shredded the sleeve on my Carhartt before I even knew what happened. I pulled the whole dash apart that weekend and found three other connections that flexed way too easy when I wiggled them. Swapped them all for new lines and now I check every single air brake fitting during the pre-trip with a flashlight. Parts are cheap, stitches and hospital bills are not.
