Just spent 6 hours chasing a ghost fuel leak on a 2015 Freightliner
Turned out to be a hairline crack in the return line fitting that only showed up under full fuel pressure with the engine hot. I must have gone through three bottles of leak detector and swapped two different lift pumps before I spotted it. Anyone else had a tiny crack like that eat up half their shift?

Three bottles of leak detector and two lift pumps" before you found it? Man, that's brutal. I would've been ready to torch the whole truck by that point. A hairline crack that only shows up when everything's hot and under pressure is just plain sneaky. I've had my share of fuel system headaches but nothing that took a full six hours to track down. You've got way more patience than I do, that's for sure.

Three bottles of leak detector and two lift pumps" sounds like a lot, but that's exactly what it takes sometimes. Some leaks are just plain sneaky and won't show themselves until everything's hot and under pressure.
