Rant: Everyone swears by rebuilt injectors, but my experience was a nightmare.
I was out near Flagstaff last month swapping injectors on a buddy's 6.0 Powerstroke, and the "rebuilt" set from a popular shop had two that were just dead out of the box. After fighting with it for three hours, I had to pull them all back out and drive an hour to buy new ones from the dealer. Has anyone else had better luck with new injectors over rebuilt ones on these trucks?

Drove four hours round trip last weekend to pick up a set of "rebuilt" injectors for my 7.3 and two of them had the little O-rings just hanging loose inside the box. I spent two hours on the phone with the shop and they kept saying "just torque them down a little more" like I haven't been turning wrenches for fifteen years. Ended up swapping them for new ones from Ford and the truck fired right up first try. I'm with you 100 percent, rebuilt injectors are a total gamble and I'll never waste my time or money on them again.

Wonder if the shop was just having a bad day or something.
