Rant: my $29 impact wrench from the farm store beat my $180 name brand on a rusty 7.3 manifold
Last Saturday I was pulling the turbo off a 2000 F-350 with a 7.3 and my good impact kept stalling on the manifold bolts. Out of frustration I grabbed the cheap one my wife got me at the farm store in Hays, Kansas, and it walked every bolt right out, no soaking, no torch. The expensive one has more torque on paper but the cheap one hits faster and that's what actually breaks rust loose. I have been turning wrenches for 14 years and I felt dumb standing there holding the pricey one like a paperweight. Has anyone else noticed the cheaper guns hitting quicker, or did I just get a freak unit?
