Reman injectors vs rebuilding them yourself. Which way do you go?
I had a 6.0 Powerstroke last month with a bad injector and went with a reman set from a local shop for $1200, but my buddy says he always rebuilds his own for half that. What's your experience been with either option holding up long term?

...and honestly I think you'd be crazy to rebuild them yourself unless you really know what you're doing. I went with reman from a reputable shop and they've been solid for over a year now, no issues at all. My buddy tried rebuilding his own once and ended up with a bad seal that cost him more in downtime than just buying remans would've been. That $600 savings might not be worth it if you have to redo the job twice, you know?

Had a buddy who rebuilt his own calipers once and put them on backwards. Not even kidding. Spent three hours trying to bleed the brakes before someone pointed it out. He wasted a whole weekend and still ended up buying remans from the parts store. Learned that lesson the hard way with his own wallet and time. Sometimes you just gotta pay for the peace of mind.

Did you ever find out if he had the bleeders facing the wrong way or something else?
