Showerthought: a simple trick with a heat gun saved a stuck injector for me

I was working on a 6.7 Powerstroke with a seized injector that wouldn't budge, even with a slide hammer. Out of ideas, I gently heated the injector bore with a heat gun for about two minutes, not even that hot. The thing came out smooth as butter on the next try. I guess the aluminum head expanded just enough. Has anyone else found a safe temp or time that works without risking the head?

Heat guns work, just don't overdo it.

I used to skip the oil but lisa_grant's overnight soak tip actually works better than heat alone.

Ever try a little penetrating oil first? I've had luck with a quick heat cycle, like you did, but letting it soak overnight can work too.
