Vent: lost a whole day chasing a no-start on a 6.0 Power Stroke in Bakersfield
Last Tuesday I was out in Bakersfield on a 2005 F-250 that would crank forever and never fire. I hooked up my scan tool and got no codes at all, which had me scratching my head for a good hour. Turned out the ICP sensor was unplugged and the connector was full of oil, so the PCM had no clue what the rail pressure was doing. I cleaned it out, plugged it back in, and she fired right up on the first turn. Spent 6 hours on a 5 minute repair because I trusted the scanner instead of doing a visual walk around first. Any of you got a go-to checklist for these oil-clogged sensors before you start throwing parts at it?
