Warning: 2 years of injector rattle was me overtorquing the hold-down bolts

I pulled a set last week and noticed the crush washers were totally flat - turns out I was cranking them to 80 ft-lbs instead of the 35 the manual says. Has anyone else had a stupid torque mistake that took way too long to catch?

Cranked my passenger side valve cover bolts to "gorilla tight" once because I couldn't find my torque wrench. Took me three months and a blown gasket to realize I was the problem, not the parts. Sometimes being too strong is the dumbest mistake you can make.

@joseph_hart I started using a 1/4 inch ratchet on valve covers and it saved me so much headache. The smaller handle makes it basically impossible to overtorque those little bolts.
