Appreciation post: My $40 screen protector just saved my Wacom Cintiq from a coffee disaster
I was cleaning my desk and knocked a full mug over, but the liquid just beaded up and rolled off the protector, leaving my actual screen completely dry and safe... anyone have a good brand for a backup, just in case?

Thank the tech gods for screen protectors, seriously. Did the exact same thing with a glass of red wine near my laptop, my heart just STOPPED. That beading thing is a miracle. I've been using the same brand for years now and just buy a two-pack every time.

Oh man, @christopher_west1, you are preaching to the choir. I had a close call with a full coffee mug last winter. That moment of pure panic is something else. It's wild how a thin piece of glass can save you from a very expensive mistake. I don't even set up a new device without one anymore.

Does that brand hold up well on the edges? I've had some peel off after a few months. What worked for me was switching to a tempered glass one with a proper alignment frame. Took the guesswork out of putting it on, no bubbles or dust trapped underneath. Saved my phone twice when I dropped it on concrete. Just wish they weren't so pricey for the good ones.
