Hot take: That "fix your lighting" critique I got was actually spot on

Some rando on a discord server told me my character art looked flat because I was only using one light source. I switched to a three-point setup and suddenly my portraits actually pop now - has anyone else had a random stranger change their whole workflow?

My buddy Andy was the same way, swore up and down that knowing when to let go was for quitters. He spent like two years trying to force a business partnership that was clearly dead in the water. Finally walked away and his only regret was not doing it sooner, said it felt like a weight he didn't even know he was carrying just got lifted off his shoulders.
