I spent 6 hours on a single digital painting and then accidentally deleted the file

Last Saturday I was working on this fantasy landscape piece in Procreate... had the lighting just right, the clouds were looking amazing. Then my cat jumped on the iPad and I hit some gesture that wiped the whole layer. No backup. I sat there staring at the blank screen for like 10 minutes. Has anyone else had a total disaster like this ruin their best work?

Check if it's still in Procreate's recent projects list. Sometimes swiping up on the thumbnail brings back the whole thing even if you think it's gone.

Did you check Procreate's auto-save or the "layers" panel thoroughly? The app usually keeps a backup in the gallery unless you force-quit it. Could be worth digging around before you assume it's totally gone.
