Serious question, did you know the first digital art piece sold for over $69 million?

I just read that in an old article about the Christie's auction... my brain still can't process that number for a file. Anyone else have a fact that made you just stop and stare?

Man that sale broke my brain too. What gets me is how it changed the whole idea of collecting. Before that, owning art meant having a physical thing you could touch. Now the bragging right is literally just a line of code saying you own it. Feels like we're paying for pure concept now.

Pure concept" is exactly it. We're basically buying the idea of ownership now, not the thing itself. That's a wild shift in what we even think value is.
