Shoutout to the artist who told me my contrast was way off

I was posting some fantasy landscapes on here a few months ago and someone straight up said my shadows looked like mud. Took me a second to not get defensive but they were right. I went back and adjusted the levels and suddenly my mountains actually looked like they had depth instead of just being a blob. Now I check my contrast before I post anything. Anybody else get a critique that actually made them better?

Yeah, @karenm49, getting called out like that stings at first but it's the best thing that can happen. That mud comment probably saved your future work from looking dead flat.

Took getting told my grass looked like green soup before I finally learned how shadows actually work.
