Switched from a cheap tablet to a Cintiq and the difference is night and day
I've been drawing on a basic $80 tablet for about two years, and it always felt like I was fighting the tool. The pen would skip, the pressure felt weird, and I could never get fine lines right. Last month, I finally got a used Wacom Cintiq 16 after saving up, and it's a whole new world. Drawing directly on the screen feels so much more natural, and the pen tilt feature lets me shade in a way I just couldn't before. I finished a portrait in maybe three hours that would have taken me a full day with the old setup, and the lines were so much cleaner. Has anyone else made a jump like this and found it totally changed their workflow?

Wasn't there a study that said drawing on screen helps your brain connect the hand movement better? Makes total sense.

Wait, are you maybe mixing that up with something else? I remember reading about that... the study was actually about writing by hand on paper, not drawing on a screen. Something about the physical feel and resistance of pen on paper making your brain work harder to form the letters. Drawing on a smooth glass screen just doesn't give the same feedback. It's a small difference but it seems to matter for memory.
