The compliment that got me through a rough week

I was at a small digital art meetup in Portland last month, just showing my latest character piece on my tablet. This older guy walks up, looks at it for a solid 30 seconds, and says 'the way you did the lighting on her armor actually makes sense physically, most people just fake it.' Nobody had ever called out that specific detail before. It totally made my night. Have you ever gotten a random comment from a stranger that stuck with you way longer than you expected?

Same thing happened to me at a comic shop once. Guy pointed out my brush strokes and said they looked confident, totally made my week.
