Picked a $400/mo local SEO guy over a $2k/mo agency for my Dallas plumbing site, not sure if I messed up
I run a small plumbing company in Dallas and needed help ranking in the map pack, so I got quotes from a solo SEO guy at $400 a month and a full agency at $2k a month. The agency promised content, link building, and a monthly strategy call, while the solo guy just said he'd fix my Google Business Profile and build out service pages for each suburb. I went with the cheap guy back in March since cash was tight and honestly my traffic went from about 300 visits a month to 900 by June. Problem is I have no idea if those are real leads or just bots, and my phone hasn't rung that much more. The agency keeps emailing me saying I'm losing money on shared IPs and thin content, which sounds like scare tactics but who knows. Did I actually get a good deal or did I just buy cheap and get cheap? Would love to hear from anyone who's been in this spot.
