Vent: a guy at a Phoenix marketing meetup told me SEO stands for 'still earning online'
Was at a small meetup in Phoenix about 3 weeks ago and some guy kept saying that to every new person who walked in. Back when I started looking into this stuff around 2012, we were all chasing backlinks and keyword pages, and now it feels like half the job is just keeping up with AI answers eating the clicks. Is anyone else hearing clients ask about this stuff, or is it just the crowd I ended up standing next to?
