Found a legit transcript embosser trick after 3 failed orders

Last month I needed an official-looking embosser for a client's replacement diploma package. The first two online shops sent cheap plastic ones that squished the paper instead of cutting it. Then I asked a local print shop guy, and he told me to search for "notary seal tools" instead of "diploma embosser". Same exact steel die mechanism, but half the price at $28, and it came with a spare anvil. Anyone else had luck reusing notary gear for this kind of work?
