Overheard a recruiter say transcripts matter more than the paper

Was picking up paperwork at my kid's school office and this recruiter from a staffing agency was talking to the secretary. She said she has seen guys with fancy online diplomas get passed over because their transcripts showed 6 week completion for a 4 year degree. Said she checks the dates before she even looks at the school name. Never thought about that angle before. I always figured the diploma itself was the whole battle. Does anyone else look at the transcript timeline when they hire or is that just her thing?

And I caught the same thing when a guy I helped hire had a degree from a place that took him three months flat.
