Transcript verification flipped after 11 months, school says sorry

Got my official transcript back in March and it listed my associates degree as pending. Checked again last Tuesday and it suddenly shows completed with a 2019 date. Turns out the diploma service they outsourced to had a batch error that finally got fixed. I already told two employers I was still finishing the program. Has anyone else had a service quietly correct paperwork without telling them first?

Funny how a mistake working in your favor gets treated like a disaster. Eleven months of telling employers you were still finishing up, and now the paper says you finished in 2019. That ought to save you money on tuition, since you clearly didn't need the extra year of study. Schools fix errors all the time, and nobody throws a party when a grade gets corrected upward. Maybe the real problem is that you got comfortable with the story of being a work in progress, and the truth messed with your sense of self. A completed degree with an old date doesn't hurt you, it just takes away an excuse you liked having.
