Comparing paper forms to online filing felt like going back in time

I spent 3 hours last week filling out a paper disability claim for a friend who doesn't do computers. Then I did my own online claim in about 45 minutes. The paper one had me flipping pages back and forth to check things, plus I messed up a date and had to white it out. Online just auto-checked everything and told me right away if I missed a box. Has anyone else tried both ways and found one way less headache?

That 3 hour paper form sounds like it was designed by someone who never actually filled one out themselves. I felt the same way helping my grandfather with a paper tax return last year, ended up using half a bottle of white-out and still had to redo two pages. Makes me wonder if the people who prefer paper forms just have a higher tolerance for self-inflicted headaches than I do.

Online filing definitely wins for speed and accuracy these days. But a three hour paper form sounds like it might have been a particularly bad one, not the norm. The whole process isn't always that much of a headache if you take it slow and double check as you go.
