Skeptical about the 6 month wait rule, turns out it was real

Back in March I read that a lot of CA disability claims get denied fast if you file too early, like before your condition has been documented for a while. I figured it was just people making excuses. Then I helped my cousin file his claim after 2 months of back issues, and it got bounced in 3 weeks. He reapplied after he hit the 6 month mark with a full treatment history, and it went through on the first try. That timing thing is not a myth. Anyone else see a claim get shot down just because of the calendar?

Honestly that calendar thing bit me too, I filed my own claim at 4 months and got denied fast. Once I hit 6 months and had all my doctor notes lined up, it went through without a fight. Sucks that you have to game the system like that, but it works.
