Switched from a lawyer to a disability advocate and my claim went through in 4 months
I spent like 2 years going back and forth with a big law firm and got nowhere. Then my neighbor told me to try a disability advocate instead. Found one in San Jose who actually specializes in CA claims. She caught that my doctor's notes were missing key language about functional limitations. Had them redone and my claim got approved in 4 months flat. The lawyer kept pushing for a hearing but the advocate just knew what paperwork to tweak. Anyone else had better luck with an advocate vs a lawyer?

That 2 year wait sounds brutal, glad the advocate figured it out fast.

Right? "Brutal" is putting it lightly, that's like a whole life sentence in paperwork years. But yeah, the advocate cracked the code faster than most people can even get a return email from those offices. Still, the fact that you even need an advocate to translate "no" into "maybe later" is pretty ridiculous. Makes you wonder how many folks just give up after two years of that nonsense, doesn't it?
