The waiting game vs. calling every week - which actually moves your claim faster?
I filed my disability claim back in March with a back injury and sat on my hands for 8 weeks doing nothing. Then I started calling the local office every Tuesday morning at 8am sharp. Within 2 weeks my claim went from 'under review' to 'approved'. But my buddy in San Diego says he never called once and got paid in 6 weeks flat. So is the phone push worth it or does just luck determine the timeline? Anyone seen a real difference with this?

Tbh my anxiety is so bad I probably sped up the process just by calling and having them hear my shaky voice say "I'm not anxious though." I think the truth is it's a total crapshoot, some reps just click faster on a Tuesday morning when they're caffeinated. Ngl your buddy might just have a guardian angel VA worker while the rest of us are battling voicemail trees.

My San Diego buddy hit 210k in VA disability with zero phone calls and no VSO help, so calling just gets you a busy signal while the quiet claims sail through. Doesn't calling basically just tell them you're anxious instead of letting the system do its job?
