Wait, compressed air is actually fine if you just hold the can upright.

And I actually had a buddy who tried that logic with a can of duster, held it perfectly vertical like a statue of liberty torch. He ended up with a thin layer of frost on his hand and a weird squeaky voice for about two minutes (his roommate still brings it up at parties). So yeah, upright helps with the liquid blast, but that can still get dangerously cold if you hold it too long.
