Found a cheap fix for loose HDMI ports on PS4

My PS4's HDMI port got loose after 3 years and kept losing signal if the cable moved. I tried bending the port pins with a toothpick which worked for about a week. Then I used a tiny dab of superglue on a q-tip along the outside seam of the port bracket inside the case. Let it set for 24 hours and no more issues. Has anyone else tried this or found a better way to secure those ports without replacing the whole connector?

You've got good intentions but superglue inside a console is asking for trouble. That stuff wicks into all sorts of places you don't want it. If it seeps down into the actual HDMI connector pins or the solder joints underneath, you're going to have a much bigger problem than a loose port. A better way is to use a bit of hot glue on the outer edge of the port where it meets the metal shield, not inside the port itself. Also, make sure the port is actually loose and not just the solder joints on the motherboard cracked from stress. Bending pins can work short term but usually just makes them worse over time. The real fix if it keeps happening is to reflow the solder joints or just replace the HDMI port entirely.

Wait, is this like a sign I need to stop using superglue for everything? lol I once tried fixing a crack in my phone case with superglue and ended up gluing my fingers together for like an hour, it was a whole mess. You're totally right though, that stuff gets everywhere and I can just picture it dripping down into the HDMI port and bricking the whole console. I've definitely been guilty of bending pins too, thinking it's a quick fix but then the next week the picture starts flickering and I know I made it worse. Hot glue sounds way smarter, I might actually have some in a drawer somewhere from a craft project I never finished. Thanks for the heads up, I'll try not to turn my console into a sticky disaster zone.
